Source: The Newseum, Volume 24, Issue 1. In 1983, Joseph Zanoni organized the local Tyrolean Trentino Club in Norway, Michigan. Just as Yoopers have their own culture within our state, Trentino, Italy was originally part of Austria. So, their culture, is far different from other regions in Italy. The Club was formed to celebrate their Austrian heritage as well as the Italian.
After 40 years, the club officially dissolved this winter and have donated their remaining funds to our museum. A special exhibit will be displayed featuring some of their heritage collections and journeys to Trentino.
